The FSU Alumni Association's Reubin O'D. Askew Award, named in honor of former Governor Askew, recognizes his contributions to the state, nation, and university. These young alumni continue Askew's legacy of outstanding accomplishments built on the foundation of their education from Florida State University. Each recipient must be a graduate of FSU (undergraduate or graduate), age 35 or younger (as of 12/31/22), who has made exceptional achievements and significant contributions to their profession, community/society, or the university. The recipient must exemplify outstanding professional and personal development either through traditional channels or innovative approaches.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 7, 2023, for Fall 2023 Honorees
Honorees will be recognized in Tallahassee at the Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala on Friday, October 20, 2023.
Process: A committee appointed by the Young Alumni Council selects the recipients of the Askew honorees. Each year's recipients are notified upon approval of the Alumni Association National Board of Directors' Awards Committee in June. If a nominee is not selected in a particular year, they may be re-nominated in succeeding years. Self-nominations and FSU faculty/staff will not be considered.
